WINNIPEG – The union at the Maple Leaf pork processing plant in Brandon is calling for a halt to production after three more cases of COVID-19.
UFCW Local 832 says the plant should shut down until at least next Monday so outstanding test results can come in.
The three new cases of coronavirus, involving non-production workers, follows an employee testing positive over the weekend.
These Maple Leaf cases are part of a cluster in the Prairie Mountain health region being investigated by provincial medical officials.
