Much Different Boxing Day

Manitoba Post StaffNews

WINNIPEG – There were no lineups early this morning at electronics stores. COVID-19 has changed Boxing Day too.

Instead, bargain hunters are online today hoping to find some deals there and experts say they will. Retailers are looking to move as much product as possible so they can try and balance their pandemic books.

The deepest discounts will likely be found on a backlog of holiday and seasonal inventory. One retail consulting firm says many stores will be offering fire sale pricing.

Manitoba isn’t the only province with a different looking Box Day this year. Ontario and Quebec are also started coronavirus lockdowns today.
