WINNIPEG – A Winnipeg man was charged for theft, possession of meth, and for a weapon after police noticed him breaking a traffic law on a stolen bicycle.
Monday afternoon police stopped a man on a bicycle near Alfred Avenue and Aikins Street.
Police said they discovered the bicycle had been reported stolen on August 9th while locked up at a restaurant in the area of Erin Street and Portage Avenue.
A search of the man turned up a collapsable baton weapon and 1 ounce of methamphetamine.
Cory Jason Carvajal, a 33-year-old man from Winnipeg, was charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possession of a Weapon
- Possession of Scheduled Substance – Methamphetamine
The stolen bike will be returned to its owner.
