Multiple Snowmobile Thefts in La Salle Area

WINNIPEG, MB – Headingley RCMP are investigating snowmobile thefts and attempts in the La Salle area.

Early Thursday, February 1, morning RCMP received a call from a homeowner in La Salle, about an encounter he had just had in his garage. The homeowner told police he heard noises in his garage and went to check. He found a man attempting to steal a snowmobile. The suspect ran out of the garage and jumped into a white pickup truck with four males inside it.

Later that same morning, RCMP received two more calls from the same community regarding theft. The first call was a homeowner who had noticed his sled trailer lock had been tampered with as well as the garage door. Nothing appeared to be stolen.

The third homeowner reported his garage door damaged overnight and two snowmobiles missing.

RCMP are asking anyone with information about these crimes to call their local RCMP Detachment or call Manitoba Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
