WINNIPEG – New projections show COVID-19 would have been much worse in Manitoba if not for the tough restrictions now in effect.
Without the measures, new cases likely would have topped 1,000 a day by now.
The modelling also indicates that for every 48 cases of coronavirus in the province, three people are hospitalized and one dies.
Dr. Brent Roussin says even though the daily case count has come down a bit, all the numbers are still too high.
Our chief public health officer says no final decision has been made yet on what to do when the current restrictions expire next Friday.
