No Bigger Funerals Yet

WINNIPEG – A local funeral home wants the province to allow bigger funerals again.

Michael Vogiatzakis at Voyage Funeral Home wants the COVID-19 cap of 50 people raised. He says people aren’t being allowed to grieve properly and it’s cut his business by half. He points to restaurants and casinos where restrictions have been lifted.

However, chief public health officer, Doctor Brent Roussin, says funerals are super spreaders of coronavirus and there’s no plan to allow bigger services anytime soon.
