WINNIPEG – A Health Canada app is being used elsewhere to trace COVID-19 but not here.
Manitoba’s Chief Public Health Officer says there’s some value in the app but it’s not going to replace contact tracing.
Dr. Brent Roussin says a lot of Manitobans would have to get the app for it to have any benefit.
The app uses Bluetooth to monitor where you go and then it alerts you if you got close to someone who tests positive for coronavirus.
