Noontime Armed Robbery Suspect Faces Multiple Gun Charges

In spite of an uncooperative victim, police manage to nab a suspect who robbed someone at gunpoint in broad daylight.

On November 14 at 12:40 p.m., police responded to the report of a person who had been robbed at gunpoint at Beverley Street and Sargent Avenue.

Officers found the suspect in the area and placed him under arrest. A search of him resulted in the seizure of a number of items including an improvised firearm containing a 12 gauge shotgun shell and a hatchet.

28 year-old Danny Wawaskes Harper of Winnipeg, has been charged with possession of a weapon (x2), possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.

He has been detained in custody.
