WINNIPEG – Fashion mogul Peter Nygard will be in a Winnipeg courtroom again today for the start of a two day bail hearing.

The 79 year old’s lawyer says he’s in poor health and at risk of contracting COVID-19 behind bars which would kill him.

Nygard’s doctor says he has a number of health issues including diabetes, coronary disease and high blood pressure. He also has a pacemaker.

Attorneys on the other side say Nygard has a history of not showing up for court appearances and he has the means to flee.

Nygard was arrested last month and faces extradition to the US on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
