Officers Injured, 30-Year-Old Woman Charged

WINNIPEG – Two Police officers had to go to hospital for treatment of injuries sustained while arresting a 30-year-old woman.

Thursday night police responded to a call of an erratic woman at a shelter on Henry Street. When officers arrived they made attempts to detain her and she immediately became combative. Both officers were subsequently bit on the hands and arms.

Additional officers arrived to help and the woman was taken into custody. One officer was kicked repeatedly in the chest and another was kicked in the thigh.

Both officers went to hospital for treatment. One other officer suffered minor injuries.

Police arrested and charged Karly Dee Davis, a 30-year-old woman from Winnipeg, with Assault a Peace Officer (x4).
