One Arrested & One at Large for Armed Car-Jacking

WINNIPEG – Police arrested a man wanted for a car-jacking on Monday, while another man remains at large.

The two men are wanted in connection with an armed car-jacking that occurred on May 22, 2018. Police said the stolen vehicle was examined by forensics, which identified a possible suspect.

Saturday May 26 the suspect and a second man were at a gas station on Henderson Hwy in a vehicle reported stolen on May 12, 2018, to the RCMP and bearing a licence plate which had been reported as stolen on May 19, 2018.

The men gassed up, paid and then stole a bottle a windshield washing fluid before leaving.

Monday one suspect was located standing behind the stolen vehicle on Arlington Street and was arrested. The second man is still outstanding.

The man arrested is Blake Allan Morand, 31-years-old from Winnipeg has been charged with Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 X2, Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 and Theft Under $5000.
