One Woman Dead, Three Injured by Drunk Driver

WINNIPEG – Four people are in hospital following an early Saturday morning collision in the first 100 block of Cullen Drive.

Four people were taken to hospitals; one in critical condition, one in unstable condition and two are in stable condition.

The victim in critical condition, a 22-year-old woman, has from her injuries. Just one occupant of the vehicle remains in hospital in stable condition.

The driver of the vehicle, Thomas Matthew Saunders, a 26-year-old from Winnipeg, has been charged with:

  • Drive Impaired Cause Death
  • Drive Over 80mg% Cause Death
  • Drive Impaired Cause Bodily Harm
  • Drive Over 80mg% Cause Bodily Harm

Police believe a dark coloured sedan was travelling eastbound down Cullen Drive at the same time as the collision and would like to speak to the occupants of this vehicle. Anyone who may have witnessed this collision or that may have information is asked to call police at 204-986-7085.
