Over 100 Mail Boxes Broken Into in La Salle

Manitoba Post StaffNews

LA SALLE – Several mail boxes were broken into in La Salle and RCMP are asking for the public’s help with the investigation.

Police said sometime overnight on July 22-July 23rd suspects broke into more than 100 individual Canada Post community mailboxes in La Salle.

Police believe sensitive information could have been taken from the mailboxes, and they are cautioning anyone whose mailbox was affected to protect themselves from the possibility of identity theft by reporting their mailbox break-in to the Headingley RCMP and to Canada Post. People should then contact their bank/financial institution and credit card companies. Next, contact the two national credit bureaus and place a fraud alert on your credit reports (Equifax Canada and TransUnion Canada). Finally, contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.

Headingley RCMP are asking anyone who may have heard or seen anything suspicious overnight on July 22, 2018, or anyone who may have cameras pointed in the direction of any mailboxes to call them at 204-888-0358.
