WINNIPEG – Four premiers including Manitoba’s Brian Pallister will hold a news conference in Ottawa today.

They’re expected to ask for a significant increase in federal transfer payments.

Quebec’s Francois Legault, Ontario’s Doug Ford and Alberta’s Jason Kenney will join Pallister at the podium.

This year’s transfer will total almost $42 billion. The feds have also promised $19 billion to the provinces and territories to help them cope with COVID-19.
