WINNIPEG – The pediatric cardiology clinic at the Health Sciences Centre will be relocating later this year. The move is designed to centralize and streamline the fragmented system that is currently in place which will result in improved quality of care for the children in need of the facility.
The relocation will include improvements including two additional exam rooms, four cardiologist offices and dedicated space for ultrasound, EKG testing and counselling which currently occupy shared space.
The current clinic, built in the mid-1980s, was designed for roughly one-third of the present clinic volume and significantly less complicated patient requirements. This meant proximity to other hospital services was less of a concern at the time.”
