WINNIPEG – Police have arrested and charged 37-year-old Nolan Ray Coutu, an alleged thief who clearly doesn’t give up.
At 2:40 AM Tuesday police responded to a robbery at a business in the 2500 block of Portage Avenue. A man approached a female employee and demanded that she open the till. At the same time, he suggested that he had a gun. Other staff heard the commotion and began to approach when the suspect took off without any money.
Later in the morning at 4:30AM the same went to a business in the 2100 block of Ness Avenue. He approached two female staff members, this time pulling a knife and demanding money. Again, he did not get any cash and took off.
Finally at 5:00 AM the suspect went to another business, this time in the 1800 block of Ness Avenue. Armed with a knife, he approached a male employee and demanded money. He did receive money from the cash register this time and he then took off on foot.
Tuesday afternoon police located Unit land arrested Nolan Ray Coutu at an address in the 2400 block of Portage Avenue. Police said he has been charged with:
- Robbery X3
- Possess Weapon X2
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order X8
