WINNIPEG – Police are investigating a suspicious death after a fire in a home on Manitoba Avenue took the life of a man in his 60’s.

Police and Fire Paramedic personnel responded to a fire on Manitoba Avenue on June 1 at about 10:50 PM. When they arrived, they encountered heavy flames and smoke inside the home.

Two people inside had self-evacuated and one of the residents was taken to hospital in stable condition. A man in his 60’s was discovered deceased inside the home.

The cause of the fire is believed to be suspicious in nature.
