Police Lay Manslaughter Charges in Death of Infant

WINNIPEG – Police have charged a 29 year-old man with manslaughter and aggravated assault after an infant was found unresponsive at a home in the Lord Roberts neighbourhood.

Emergency services responded to the home on January 11 at about 9:25PM and found the unconscious infant. They immediately began first aid and he was taken to hospital in critical condition. He passed away on January 15. The investigation determined the infant suffered internal injuries.

29 year-old Mathieu Moreau has been charged with Manslaughter and Aggravated Assault.

He has been detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
