WINNIPEG – During the early morning hours of May 21, 2019, the head and staff of a statute of St. Volodymyr was stolen from the Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral at 115 McGregor Street.

During the afternoon of May 25, 2019, a bystander located the head abandoned in the 500 block of Dufferin Avenue and returned it to the church.

Investigators believe that the top and bottom of the staff may have also been discarded in the area and are requesting the public’s assistance with locating them.

This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
