WINNIPEG – Over the last two weeks, numerous vehicles have been vandalized or broken into in the area of Ellice Avenue and Wall Street.
Given the large number of complaints police launched the Smart Policing Initiative, which is an intelligence-led, evidence-based policing program designed to increase our proactive policing potential through the use of data analysis, focused prevention and deterrence strategies.
The program proved successful with the arrest of three individuals believed to be responsible for the rash of crime in the area.
Police arrested Alex Vern James Borkowski, a 27-year-old man from Winnipeg, and charged him with:
- Possession of Break-In Instrument(s)
- Resist Peace Officer
- Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x2)
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order (x2)
Borkowski also had three outstanding warrants for charges that include:
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order (x2)
- Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance (x3)
Christopher Robert Baron, a 40-year-old man from Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Possession of Scheduled Substance – Methamphetamine
- Possession of Break-In Instrument(s)
And Holly Ann Marie Rundle, a 43-year-old woman from Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Possession of Scheduled Substance – Methamphetamine
- Possession of Break-In Instrument(s)
