WINNIPEG, MB – Winnipeg police warn of a man targeting woman drivers in the city.

Winnipeg police is aware of a suspicious male driver who has been flagging over female drivers. Once the woman comes to a stop, the man approaches the vehicle and suggests that there is a mechanical problem with their vehicle which needs to be addressed right away. The man then advises that he is a mechanic, has parts on hand and can repair the vehicle on the spot for a sum of money.

Police said some drivers who declined the man’s help did followed up with a certified mechanic and learned that there were no mechanical concerns with their vehicle.

Police are reminding people to be cautious if encountering anyone not known to you trying to get your attention or requesting to pull you over while driving.
