Portage Store Bear Sprayed for a Slurpee and a Bag of Chips

PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE – 5 suspects terrorized a convenience store, discharging bear spray, before fleeing with just a slurpee and a bag of chips.

On January 21, 2020, at approximately 2:00 am, RCMP responded to a robbery at a business on Saskatchewan Avenue West, in Portage la Prairie.

Five suspects entered the business, discharged bear spray, stole several items, including a slurpee and a bag of chips, and fled.

Officers patrolling in the area, located one suspect who matched the description. The 21-year-old male from Portage la Prairie, was arrested and charges of Robbery, Administering a Noxious Substance and Fail to Comply are pending.

The four other suspects are still outstanding.
