WINNIPEG, MB – An RCMP investigation into a house fire has resulted in 19-year-old Earl Moar being charged with Manslaughter.
The charges are in connection with a reported assault of a woman and house fire that happened on January 7 of this year at a home in O-Chi-Chak-Ko-Sipi First Nation (Crane River). When police arrived on scene that day, the house was fully engulfed in flames and the female victim of the assault was unaccounted for.
Once investigators were able to enter the home they discovered human remains. Those remains have been identified, and the victim is a 40-year-old female.
At that time RCMP arrested Moar and charged him with Aggravated Assault, Arson with Disregard for Human Life, Assault and Breach of Recognizance x 2. He is now also charged with Manslaughter and remains in custody.
