ELIE – Headingly RCMP are looking for information regarding a carjacking that took place in Elie on February 19 at about 9:00 AM.
A man went to a residence in Elie and told the homeowner that his vehicle had broken down and needed a boost. The homeowner agreed to drive him to the broken down vehicle. As they drove, the suspect attacked the homeowner and forced him out of the vehicle. The suspect then stole the vehicle and headed towards Highway 1. The homeowner sustained minor injuries.
The RCMP conducted extensive patrols of the area but could not locate the stolen vehicle.
The suspect is described as approximately 5’10”, 170 lbs, with short black hair and a possible deformed lower lip. He was wearing a black hoodie and jeans at the time of the attack.
The vehicle is a red, 2014 Ford F150, XLT, with Manitoba licence plate number: EMV 397.
