RCMP Officer Will Face Charges of Impaired Driving

WINNIPEG, MB. – A Manitoba RCMP officer charged with impaired driving will have his day in court on Tuesday December 5th.

The officer, Corporal Scott Hanson, was charged with Impaired Driving and Refusal toProvide a Breath Sample while off duty in a personal vehicle on September 29 of this year following an investigation.

On September 1, 2017 around 9:50 pm, East St. Paul RCMP responded to reports of a vehicle being driven erratically on Provincial Trunk Highway 202, near Birds Hill Park.

RCMP stopped the vehicle and Hanson showed signs of impairment and was arrested. He refused to provide a breath sample when taken to the East St. Paul RCMP detachment.

Hanson, a 17 year member of the RCMP, has been placed on administrative duties.
