RoadWatch Operation Hands Out 16 Tickets

Winnipeg Police have put out the stats for their most recent RoadWatch operation that they conduct with the assistance of MPI to target impaired driving.

The most recent operation was conducted from Saturday, October 20, 2018, from 8:00 p.m. until Sunday, October 21 at 4:00 a.m.

Total vehicles stopped: 565

Provincial Offence Act Tickets Issued: 16

Approved Screening Device Passes: 5

Standard Field Sobriety Tests (SFST): 2

Pass: 1

Fail:1

Drug Recognition Evaluation: 2

Both Fail – Impaired by Cannabis

Drive Impaired, Drive Over 80mg% Arrests: 2

Total Impaired Drivers Arrested: 4

On the same night there were also two impaired by alcohol arrests completed by members of general patrol officers. Both were as a result of collisions.
