WINNIPEG – Manitoba school divisions are preparing for September 8th in many ways including how to physically get kids back to school.
Most divisions are acquiring more buses and hiring new drivers. For example, in Louis Riel, they’re adding 25 buses to the fleet.
However, divisions are also asking parents to help out by driving their children to class if possible.
The province promised another $52 million dollars this week to help pay for new expenses like buses and drivers.
Ottawa is set to announce two billion dollars in federal money today to make sure schools can reopen as safely as possible this fall.
