School Funding On The Rise In Manitoba

Manitoba Post StaffNews

WINNIPEG – The Manitoba Teachers’ Society is welcoming the news that the provincial government is increasing school funding.

President Nathan Martindale says the union has been arguing for years for stable funding and it is happy to finally see it.

Operating support for public school divisions is going up by an average of 3.4 per cent.

The province is also planning to make it easier for divisions to raise their portion of local property taxes.
