WINNIPEG – Manitoba Public Insurance says this year could be the worst ever for serious injuries.
2020 is on track to break the record for serious and catastrophic injury claims.
MPI says these claims have doubled so far this year to 18, nine of them last month alone.
There were 23 in all of last year and 2019 was was the worst 12 months in a decade.
The public insurer says overall crashes are down because of lower traffic volumes but accidents are much more serious.
