Just before midnight, on October 7 police spotted an SUV that had been stolen from an Auto dealership earlier in the week. They saw the vehicle near Charles Street and Redwood Avenue and gave chase.
Air1 picked up the vehicle as it raced through a residential neighbourhood. The stolen vehicle rammed a cruiser car as they attempted to contain it and Air1 continued to track the vehicle to College Avenue where the four occupants fled on foot.
Three of the suspects were immediately caught however one male made it to the 1300 block of Mountain Avenue before he was apprehended.
23 year-old Malcolm William Jr. McLeod of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
– Flight while Pursued by Peace Officer
– Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
– Assault a Peace Officer with a Weapon (x2)
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
– Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice
23 year-old Sheldon James St. Paul of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
22 year-old Brenda Scarlett Rose Bannab of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
They were detained in custody.
A 25-year-old female of Winnipeg has been arrested for:
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
She has been released on a Promise to Appear.
