Switched At Birth Apology

Manitoba Post StaffNews

WINNIPEG – Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew will apologize today to two men who were switched at birth in 1955 at a hospital north of Winnipeg.

The premier’s office says Kinew’s apology will be on behalf of the government to Edward Ambrose and Richard Beauvais.

The men were born in the Arborg hospital and sent home with each other’s parents.

Beauvais, who was raised Metis, later did an at-home ancestry test that said he was Ukrainian and Jewish.

The men’s lawyer says they feel relieved and grateful after a long wait.
