Teenaged Girl Crossing Road Was Struck and Killed

MANITOBA – Wednesday just before midnight a teenaged girl crossing the road was struck and killed.

On July 18, at approximately 11:50 pm, Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP responded to a report of a collision on Provincial Road 278, near the Ebb and Flow First Nation community arena.

The preliminary investigation has determined that a 19-year-old female pedestrian from the Ebb and Flow First Nation was crossing PR 278 when she was struck by a car travelling northbound. She was pronounced deceased on scene.

The driver of the car, a 52-year-old male from the RM of Ste. Rose, did not sustain any injuries.

‎Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of a collision analyst.
