THANKS BUT NO THANKS

WINNIPEG – The head of the United Firefighters of Winnipeg doesn’t think his members should receive a special payment for frontline workers.

Alex Forrest has written an open letter to Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister saying the gesture is appreciated but not necessary.

Forrest says firefighters and paramedics are simply doing the dangerous work they signed up to do.

Pallister announced the CoVid-19 benefit of about $1,000 per frontline worker earlier this week.
