WINNIPEG, MB – Your opportunity to provide feedback, thoughts, or concerns is The Future of French Language Education in Manitoba forum to be help later in April.
Minister Ian Wishart invited teachers, parents, students and community members to participate in the forum to help guide the future of French language education
“This forum is a great opportunity for participants to provide feedback that can be used to enhance French immersion, Français programs and French in the English program,” said Wishart. “Manitoba has undergone major demographic changes in the past few years and there have been significant advances in technology. We recognize the need to respond to these shifts and adjust the programming and services we provide. This forum is the first step in this consultative and collaborative process.”
The government and Partners for French Education are co-hosting The Future of French Language Education in Manitoba forum, Saturday, April 21 at Centre scolaire Léo-Rémillard, 1095 St. Anne’s Rd.
“This forum is an important moment for French language education in Manitoba. Together, we will build a solid foundation with inclusion and respect as pillars of lifelong learning from infancy to an advanced age,” said Alain Laberge, superintendent of Division scolaire franco-manitobaine (DSFM) and spokesperson for Partners for French Education.
There is no registration fee for the forum, but participants must register by April 19. The event will be facilitated in French with simultaneous translation during the plenary sessions at the beginning and end of the day. Translators will also be circulating during individual group sessions.
