Three Men Arrested for Robbing Cottages in Powerview Area

WINNIPEG, MB. – The Powerview RCMP located and arrested three men on robbery charges after Traverse Bay break and enters.

An alarm at a cottage in the Traverse Bay area that went off on Sunday, January 14, at approximately 6:15 am, alerted Powerview RCMP to a break and enter.

When RCMP arrived on scene they discovered the front window of the cottage had been forced open, which prompted police searched the cottage.

Police noticed tracks outside that led to another cottage, where an alarm had also been activated.

Based on this, police added more patrols in the area, and officers quickly located a suspicious vehicle parked in front of a third cottage. Police noticed a suspect running from the property. After a short foot pursuit the suspect was caught and arrested. Police found a second second suspect in the third cottage. A third suspect was found walking down the road near the cottages and was arrested.

RCMP have charged 41-year-old Norbert Courchene, 38-year-old Bradley Courchene, both from Fort Alexander; and 36-year-old Darren Montour, of Winnipeg with Breaking and Entering, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and numerous other Criminal Code Charges. All three accused were remanded into custody.
