WINNIPEG – The owner of a video rental store in Winnipeg says it’s bittersweet to be closing so soon after its 40th anniversary.
Glen Fuhl at Video King in Transcona says the COVID-19 pandemic hurt the business badly and then the recent lengthy strikes in Hollywood was the final blow.
He used to bring in an average of 36 new movie titles each month but there were only 14 during all of last year.
Video King will close its doors forever on April 6th.
