WINNIPEG – The dry and windy conditions impacting a large portion of the province has forced Manitoba Sustainable Development to implement a number of additional travel restrictions and permit cancelations.

A travel restriction is in place for much of southeastern, central and western Manitoba including Spruce Woods Provincial Forest, Duck Mountain Provincial Forest, the Mars Hill Wildlife Management Area and a number of provincial parks. Backcountry travel in these areas is limited or requires a permit.

No Campfire are permitted in any provincial parks in southern Manitoba. Campfires in approved fire pits are allowed but restricted between the hours of 8 p.m. and 8 a.m.
