Two Men Facing Drug Charges After One Ran Into a Police Cruiser

WINNIPEG – Two men are facing drug related charges after running into a police cruiser.

Thursday night, just after 9:00 PM, police were in the area of Notre Dame Avenue and Albert Street. This area is under heavy construction with barricades limiting both pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Police noticed two men running, one of the men ran through the barricaded area and right into the side of police cruiser, striking his upper body against the side mirror.

Officers got out of the cruiser to check on the man and make sure he was alright. The second man, who had not crossed through the barricades, went to the cruiser. Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Services were called for the man ran into the cruiser.

While waiting for Ambulance to arrive, the first man passed a clear plastic baggie with a white substance to the other man. Both men were then taken into custody.

Anthony Howdle, a 48-year-old man from Alberta, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance-Cocaine

And Levi Howdle, a 21-year-old-man from Flin Flon, Manitoba has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance-Cocaine
  • Fail to Comply with Conditions of Recognizance
