WINNIPEG, MB – RCMP in Norway House responded to snowmobile collision where two men sustained serious injuries and had to be flown to Winnipeg.
RCMP said the collision happened yesterday morning on the ice near Harts Drive in the community of Norway House.
Police believe that a snowmobile with two occupants, a 24-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, both from Norway House, was travelling across a field when it collided with a large snowbank. Both male occupants were thrown from the snowmobile. The 24-year-old suffered life threatening injuries and the 21-year-old suffered serious injuries. Both men were flown to a hospital in Winnipeg.
RCMP said the men were not wearing helmets and alcohol coupled with speed are believed to be factors in the collision.
