Two People Found Dead from Exposure in Manitoba

MANITOBA – RCMP officers in Manitoba responded to two separate fatalities due to exposure.

Police said Saturday around 11:40AM, RCMO in Selkirk received a report of an unresponsive man located on a trail in Selkirk Park.

Officers and EMS rushed to the scene and located a 52-year-old man, from Selkirk, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

A short time later, approximately 3:00PM, RCMP in Gillam received a report of an unresponsive woman located in an open area off of Butnau Road, near the baseball diamonds, in Gillam.

A 48-year-old woman, from the Fox Lake Cree Nation, was located and pronounced dead at the scene.

Although no criminal activity is suspected in either of these deaths, the investigations remain ongoing and await the results of the autopsies.
