Two People Killed in Headingly Train Collision

HEADINGLY – RCMP have now confirmed that two people were killed when their vehicle was struck by a train yesterday afternoon.

A 75 year-old man and his 65 year-old passenger were both killed when their pick-up truck was struck by a train as they tried to cross the tracks on Roblin Boulevard between Alboro St and Highway 334.

The truck was pushed along the tracks onto the train bridge over the Assiniboine River.

The Winnipeg Paramedic and Fire Service Water Rescue Unit were on scene for the safety of rescue workers and the RCMP were assisted by CP police, WFPS and EMS personnel.
