Two Women Charged for an Armed Robbery in Winnipeg

WINNIPEG – Two women were arrested and charged for an armed robbery in Winnipeg Tuesday morning.

Police said around 2:15 a.m. two women robbed a convenience store in the 1200 block of Jefferson Avenue. The women, one armed with a knife, had robbed the lone clerk of cash and cigarettes, then took off on foot.

AIR1 was able to locate both suspects and with help of the K9 unit they were tracked to the 700 block of Sheppard St. where they were arrested.

Eliza Marie Berrens, 22, was charged with Robbery and Wearing a Disguise with intent.

Evelyn Blanche Beardy, 44, was charged with Robbery, Possess Weapon, Carry Concealed Weapon and Wearing a Disguise with intent.
