WINNIPEG – Two people have been charged after they attacked a man and a woman near Carlton Street and Ellice Avenue.

A 25 year-old woman and a 26 year-old man were punched, kicked and hit over the head with a hammer before their cell phone and cigarettes were stolen. Both victims require hospital treatment.

The suspects were quickly located in the immediate area and arrested.

27 year-old Kara Lisa Harper has been charged with Robbery and Possess Weapon.

31 year-old Michael Okemow has been charged with Assault with a Weapon and Carry Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition.

Both were detained.
