Victoria Beach’s Drinking Water Safe to Consume

Manitoba GovernmentNews

A ‘Do Not Consume’ advisory has been rescinded for the town of Victoria Beach’s drinking water system by the medical officer of health and Manitoba Sustainable Development.

Sampling has shown that there is no presence of coliform bacteria, and chlorine residuals have remained stable.

The system was compromised after a chemical was added to the treatment process resulted in unacceptable low levels of chlorine in the treated water.

The issue was detected before any significant exposure of unsafe water to the public occurred.
