WINNIPEG – Just two weeks after frigid temperatures and an erratic snow storm swept through the province, more mild Manitoba days are on their way. This week calls way above normal temperatures, with a high of 1 today and clearing skies. Our 30-year average around this time of year is -12, with a low of -21. After the clouds return on Wednesday, we’ll see overnight lows dip to -11, but not until Friday.

Environment Canada says the reason for these balmy conditions is a region of high pressure to the south that’s letting the warm air hang around over southern Manitoba, with somewhat colder temperatures in the north – like -16 in snowy Thompson – stuck out there.
