With the arrival of the cold weather, there has never been a better time to sit down with a good book.

The Canada Council for the Arts revealed the 2018 finalists for the Governor General’s Literary Awards (GGBooks) today. It’s time to update your reading list with the best Canadian books published this year!

The 70 finalists were selected by peer assessment committees in seven categories in both English and French.

We are delighted to administer, fund and promote the Governor General’s Literary Awards, one of the oldest and most prestigious literary awards programs in the country.
