WINNIPEG – Saturday and Sunday the Assiniboine Park Zoo is partnering with Cirque du Soleil to give Zoo visitors a chance to win four front row tickets to the opening night of Crystal at Bell MTS Place.
Zoo officials said visitors can enter to win at the Journey to Churchill exhibit or Wild Things Unique Gifts at the Zoo entrance on the 29th or 30th. The first 75 visitors to the Zoo both days will also receive a Crystal souvenir poster.
In keeping with the ice theme, the animal care team will be presenting special “Crystal” ice treats to the animals in Gateway to the Arctic in the Journey to Churchill exhibit on Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm.
“Our Crystal Selfie Street Team will also be circulating in the Zoo,” said Stephanie Kababie, Promotion & Sponsorship Specialist, Assiniboine Park Conservancy. “Take a photo with fun crystal props, post it to social media, and you’ll have an additional opportunity to win a pair of tickets to the show!”
This will also be the final weekend for Zoo visitors to see Juno the polar bear before she returns to the Toronto Zoo. Juno was relocated on a temporary basis to Assiniboine Park Zoo in March 2017, giving her the opportunity to socialize and engage with other polar bear cubs close to her age as she matured. Monday, October 1 is expected to be the last day visitors will be able to see Juno in her current home at the Leatherdale International Polar Bear Conservation Centre.
The Zoo is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
