WINNIPEG, MB. – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have been very busy over the holiday’s and finished 2017 by signing three more players.
The Bombers signed International defensive backs Travis Howard and Sam Brown, and International defensive tackle Daniel Awoleke.
Howard, who is 6-1 and 200 pounds, played four seasons with the Ohio Buckeyes playing in 43 games and starting 23 times. In his senior season, he was an All-Big Ten Conference selection and lead the league with four interceptions. He had 96 total tackles and eight interceptions in his collegiate career.
Howard did spend time with the Houston Texans, New York Giants, and Atlanta Falcons after going undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Brown, who is 6-1, 175 pounds, played four seasons with the Griffons playing in 45 career games and starting 22 times. In his collegiate career, he recorded 123 total tackles and made six interceptions.
Brown was waived by the Minnesota Vikings this September.
Awoleke, coming in at 6-5 and 295 pounds, spent four seasons with the Bulls and appeared in 26 career games recording 58 total tackles and four sacks. This past season, he was in the Montreal Alouettes’ training camp.
