Winnipeg, MB. – The Winnipeg Police released the CheckStop numbers for week two of their Festive Season Checkstop program.
Week 2 ran from Friday, December 8 to Thursday, December 14, the results are below;
- A total of 1,354 vehicles were stopped.
- 26 road-side breath tests administered resulting in 5 warns and 1 fails.
- 14 impaired driving-related arrests, (1 of which was a Drug Impaired Driver)
- 44 tickets were issued.
The Checkstop program will run every day for the month of December, including New Year’s Eve. Motorists can expect to see an increased presence of police officers on Winnipeg roadways, enforcing Impaired Driving legislation.
