Winnipeg Jets to Invade Rural Manitoba

Manitoba Post StaffSports

WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Jets will invade one lucky rural community in Manitoba on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 for the Winnipeg Jets Town Takeover event.

Fans can enter through video submission outlining why their town deserves to be chosen as a Jets Town Takeover finalist. The deadline for entries is Sunday, Jan. 5. Three videos will be selected for public vote in mid-January to determine the winning community.

Complete contest details and submission guidelines are available at WinnipegJets.com/JetsTownTakeover.

The day will consist of the Project 11 mental wellness programming for local students, including a pizza lunch, and Winnipeg Jets alumni on-ice participation with a local hockey team. A free all-ages social-style viewing party of the Winnipeg Jets at the Nashville Predators will culminate the celebration that evening, giving everyone in the community a chance to participate, complete with Mick E. Moose, fanfare and prizing.

As part of the event, community members will be encouraged to bring gently used hockey equipment and/or skating aids to donate to a local hockey association.
